We are directly findable on Google Maps, Waze and AppleMaps (search for "Lancombes House, West Milton"). If you follow your SatNav it may take you down some long, single track roads for the last few miles of your journey.

For the biggest roads please follow these directions:

FROM THE EAST AND WEST, HEAD TOWARDS BRIDPORT, DORSET
  • Leave Bridport on the A3066 signposted Beaminster and Crewkerne.
  • After just over 1 mile, turn right into TOWNSEND WAY, signposted Loders, West Milton, Powerstock and Nettlecombe.
  • After about 2 miles, as you approach the village sign for WEST MILTON, turn left up the hill. Signposted to Poorton and Loscombe.
  • After half a mile, at the crossroads close to the top of the hill, turn right (signposted as ‘No Through Road’) – single track road to LANCOMBES HOUSE. (SEE BELOW)
FROM THE NORTH, LEAVE CREWKERNE ON THE A30/A356 SIGNPOSTED CHARD / DORCHESTER
  • In the centre of Crewkerne, turn left onto the A356 to Dorchester.
  • Just past the outskirts of Crewkerne, turn right onto the A3066 signposted to Bridport.
  • Into Beaminster town centre and turn left towards Bridport and on to Melplash village.
  • Through the village and about ½ mile outside, turning to the left, signposted West Milton and Powerstock. This is another narrow road, so carry on to the outskirts of Bridport and turn left.
  • As you approach the village sign for WEST MILTON, turn left up the hill. Signposted to Poorton and Loscombe.
  • After half a mile, at the crossroads close to the top of the hill, turn right (signposted as ‘No Through Road’) – single track road to LANCOMBES HOUSE. (SEE BELOW)
DIRECTIONS FROM DORCHESTER – FOR THE MORE ADVENTUROUS!
  • If the sun is shining and you do not mind some narrow lanes, try the scenic route from Dorchester, avoiding most of the A35.
  • At the A35 / A37 roundabout on the Dorchester bypass, take the A35 to Bridport.
  • 2 miles from this roundabout, turn right. Signposted Compton Valence. Straight across the next crossroads.
  • You are now on an old Roman road. After 3 miles, the main road turns right. Keep straight on at this junction – signposted Eggardon, Askerswell and Bridport.
  • Drive 3 miles to another crossroads. Again, straight over – signposted Powerstock and West Milton. On your left is the magnificent Eggardon Hill Iron Age settlement – well worth a return visit to walk round.
  • You are now on a single track road with passing places for 2 ½ miles, when you reach the village of Powerstock. The Three Horseshoes is on your left.
  • Turn left at the junction, down the hill and out of the village.
  • At the ‘T’ junction, turn right and on into the village of West Milton. You are nearly there!
  • Turn right on the main road over the small bridge and go right through the village. At the other side, turn right up the hill. Signposted to Poorton and Loscombe.
  •  After half a mile, at the crossroads close to the top of the hill, turn right (signposted as ‘No Through Road’) – single track road to LANCOMBES HOUSE. (SEE BELOW)
  • LANCOMBES HOUSE IS 200 YARDS ALONG THIS ROAD.
  • For Tanglewood cottage and the Farmhouse, turn right down the slope before you get to the buildings. Tanglewood is on the left and the Farmhouse is the middle door.
  • For Buckingham cottage, go to the end of the drive and bear sharp right. The entrance to the courtyard is on the right and the cottage is on the left hand side.

 Whichever route you take, we look forward to seeing you!
