The multi-award winning West Milton Cider Company is on our doorstep (lucky us!). You can buy their famous alcholic and non alcoholic beverages from their shop which is only a short walk from the house.
Our nearest pub is 2 miles away and is the Marquis of Lorne. Its a great country pub, with brilliant food and well kept Palmers beers. Their food is sourced as much as possible from the local fields or their own kitchen garden. Their Sunday roast lunch is a real treat for both meat eaters and vegetarians!
Mapperton House is 3 miles from us and was voted the finest manor house in England by the readers of Country Life. You may recognise it from the 2017 film "Far from the Madding Crowd".Bridport is our local town. Bridport is a lovely town with chain and independent shops on the high street. Market days are Wednesdays and Saturdays!
West Bay is our local beach - known as Dorset's Golden Gateway to the Jurassic Coast and made world famous by ITV's series Broadchurch.
The Dorset Wildlife Trust - We have four DWT nature reserves within three miles of Lancombes House (West Milton, Loscombe, South Poorton and Powerstock Common) and two more (Peascombe and Kingcombe Meadows) a little further afield.
The Ant Hill Trail - part of the 6 mile circular walk runs alongside Lancombes House and can be easily picked up and followed for the more adventurous walker. There's a few shortcuts! Click on the link for a downloadable map.
